Refund Policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

DRAFT – pending legal review. A lawyer hasn't reviewed this page yet, so it may change. Open points that a lawyer or the owner still has to confirm are marked like [Lawyer to confirm]. A few details on this page, like our contact email, are still being finalized and are marked like [THIS].

The short version

  • DealPrep is free during the beta. This policy applies once you pay for DealPrep Pro.
  • New to Pro? Ask within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full.
  • You can cancel at any time in Settings. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, and you won't be charged again.
  • Renewals and partly used periods aren't refunded, unless we charged you by mistake or the law gives you a right to a refund.

This summary is here to help; the full text below is what applies.

1. Free during the beta

Everything on DealPrep is free during the beta, so there's nothing to refund. This policy applies to DealPrep Pro, our paid plan, once you subscribe to it.

2. Money back on your first payment

If you subscribe to Pro for the first time, monthly or yearly, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of that first payment, for any reason. We'll refund it to the card or payment method you used, and your Pro plan will end.

This applies once per person: to your first Pro subscription, not to later ones or to renewals.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in Settings, under Plan and billing. You keep Pro until the end of the month or year you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Deleting your account also cancels Pro straight away.

4. Renewals and partly used periods

Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. Outside the 14-day window above, payments aren't refunded, including for the unused part of a month or year, unless section 5 or 7 applies.

5. Billing mistakes

If you're charged twice, charged after you cancelled, or charged the wrong amount, tell us and we'll refund the mistaken charge in full.

6. Organization licenses

  • Refunds for a license bought by a school or student society follow the agreement with that organization.
  • If you already pay for Pro and then join an organization that covers you, you can choose to pause your own plan until the license ends, or cancel it and get back the unused part of your last payment.

7. Your legal rights

This policy doesn't take away any right to cancel or get a refund that the law gives you where you live. For example, consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom can usually cancel a new online subscription within 14 days; our money-back promise in section 2 covers that and gives you a full refund.

8. How to ask for a refund

Email [CONTACT EMAIL] from the address on your DealPrep account (or tell us that address), and say which payment it's about. We'll reply within 5 business days. Once a refund is approved, our payment processor, Stripe, sends it back to your card or payment method; it usually arrives within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

If something went wrong with a payment, please contact us before asking your bank to reverse it. It's usually quicker for you.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. A change never applies to a payment you made before it.
