1. These terms
DealPrep is run by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] ("DealPrep", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and us about using the DealPrep website and everything on it.
By creating an account or using DealPrep, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use DealPrep.
We may update these terms as DealPrep changes. If a change is important, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. Using DealPrep after that means you accept the new terms.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use DealPrep. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms for you.
- Give accurate information, and keep your login details private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account per person. Don't share your account or let anyone else use it.
- Tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think someone else has gotten into your account.
3. What DealPrep is, and isn't
DealPrep offers lessons, practice questions, flashcards, timed tests, AI mock interviews, study plans, certificates and the Circle community to help you prepare for finance recruiting.
- Feedback, scores and grades are partly produced by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete, so use your own judgment.
- Nothing on DealPrep is career, legal, financial, tax or investment advice.
- We don't guarantee any result, such as an interview, an offer, a particular salary or admission to a program.
- DealPrep is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any bank, firm or financial institution named on the site.
We're always improving DealPrep, so features may change, move or end. During the beta, some features may be incomplete or unavailable at times.
4. The free beta and DealPrep Pro
DealPrep is free during the beta. We may offer a paid plan, DealPrep Pro, with extra features. If you subscribe:
- You pay in advance for each month or year, at the price shown at checkout. Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time in Settings under Plan and billing. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren't refundable, including for partly used periods.
- If we change the price, we'll tell you in advance, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
- If a payment fails, we may pause Pro until it's sorted out.
5. Readiness Exams and certificates
A DealPrep certificate shows that you reached a certain score on a DealPrep Readiness Exam on a certain date. It is not a degree, license, accreditation or professional qualification, and employers decide for themselves how much weight to give it.
- Real (not practice) exam attempts must be your own work, with no help from other people, other websites or AI tools.
- During an exam, DealPrep notes when you leave the exam window. Too many switches mean the attempt can't earn a certificate.
- Don't copy, record, share or publish exam questions.
- We may decline to issue, or revoke, a certificate that was earned by breaking these rules or issued by mistake.
- Certificates expire after the period shown on them. Your certificate page is private unless you choose to make it public.
6. The Circle and insiders
The Circle is a members-only space you earn by meeting its requirements. Members and insiders (people who work, or have worked, in finance) can post, ask and answer questions, run events and offer 1:1 sessions.
- Follow the Circle rules you accept when you join. Be respectful and constructive.
- Insiders share their own views and experience, not the views of their employer, and nothing they share is a promise of a job or referral.
- Never share confidential information about an employer, a deal or a client, and don't ask others to.
- Members' questions to insiders are shown without your name to other members.
- We may remove content, and suspend or remove members or insiders, to keep the Circle safe and useful.
7. Your content
Your content is what you put into DealPrep: answers, interview responses, stories, notes, resumes, flashcards you create, and posts and messages in the Circle. You own your content.
You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only as needed to run DealPrep for you. That includes sending it to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy (for example, to an AI provider to grade an answer) and showing Circle posts to the people they're meant for. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or in short-lived backups.
You're responsible for your content. Only upload things you have the right to share, and don't include other people's private or confidential information.
8. Our content
DealPrep's lessons, questions, flashcards, exams, explanations, design and software belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may use them for your own personal study.
Don't copy, scrape, download in bulk, resell, publish or build a competing product from DealPrep's content, and don't try to get around how the site is meant to be used.
9. Fair use
When you use DealPrep, don't:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- harass, threaten, impersonate or discriminate against anyone;
- post spam, advertising, or anything hateful, explicit or misleading;
- try to access accounts, data or parts of the site that aren't yours, or test our security without permission;
- overload the site, or use bots or scripts to use it, except as we allow;
- misuse the AI features, for example by trying to make them produce harmful content.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using DealPrep at any time. You can delete your account and its data yourself in Settings (this also cancels Pro right away), or email us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we'll do it within 30 days.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or that we're required to close by law. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why first.
Sections 5 to 8 and 11 to 12 keep applying after an account is closed.
11. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
DealPrep is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, error-free, or right for your goals.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as a missed job opportunity), and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute comes up, please contact us first at [CONTACT EMAIL]; most problems can be solved quickly that way.
If that doesn't work, disputes will be handled by the courts located in [STATE], unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
